Global Warming - Not Here!

The severe frosts and snow at the weekend were malicious in their timing - the Magnolias and Camelias had just bloomed - sadly ruined now. The flowers do seem to be very confused - we have had snowdrops at the same time as the daffodils and now the carpet of wood anaenomes, violets and celandines are dotted with bluebells - I'm sure they don't normally come out until mid May - but perhaps my memory is going!

Building work is gathering pace..... it needs to as Hidden Valley Yurts opens on the 23rd May - just 6 weeks away. At the moment the site looks horrific - electric and water cable trenches everywhere - we are praying for the rain to hold off until they are filled back in. The decks look a bit raw - but it is amazing how fast they weather and we are going to plant beans, peas and rasperries to grow over the railings to soften them - and provide a tasty snack for our guests.

Sales also busy - the two door yurts sold out virtually overnight - we have just one left. The new green woodwork was definately a hit too so we will up the order for the next shipment - I'm having a hankering for cerise pink now! The new style rain caps are a huge improvement - though we still haven't resolved the 2 door issue - Peter says he has sorted this in his head but now needs to cut some patterns.
