Visitors from Mongolia

We were delighted to welcome our yurt supplier, Mr Sukhee, and his daughters to Hidden Valley Yurts. Being able to show him the yurts in situ and to discuss the detail of the finishes was enormously helpful and should mean the quality continues to improve. He was fascinated by our rain cap design and said that the wooden decks were excellent commenting that in Mongolia “ventilation is essential for the health and well being of both ger (yurt) and human”. His love of animals was evident when he met the alpacas - though who could resist the charms of Caris!

We are now so busy that we are wavering about adding another yurt – we have a lovely elevated position at the very end of the yurt field – out of sight of the other yurts and with far reaching views. Lewis has started the decking and we are considering putting a 16’ yurt up with it's own little field kitchen behind and a compost loo - all we need is a good solar shower to make it completely self contained - but sourcing one of those is proving difficult - free holiday to anyone who wants to fit one!
